Camberley

Extension

Stage: Design

Current Status: Under Construction

Project Value: £420,000.00

Scope of work: Create "something modern something cool" open plan living for a young growing family.

A brief description:

We wanted to retain the overall proportions of the original house while extending the home with modern features. The front elevation has been revitalised with use of oversized glazing panels and dormer extensions that have been brought to ground floor level. The two dormers complement the original A-Frame roof form.

The home welcomes you to a double height atrium with a skylight to flood the hallway on ground and first floor. The rear of the home is open plan to create a one large entertaining space. By using matching floor lighting internally and externally, we wanted to blur the lines of inside/outside. This is also further complemented by using matching colour and texture internal/external tiles.

The home has few unique features, one of our favourites must be the frameless ridge skylights used on the front 3 gable ended roofs (see below in axo drawing). Having used these previously at our Richings Way project we realised that these really are a must have to really accentuate the connection of being outside.
